U.S. Coast Guard – Hurricane Repairs, Coast Guard ANT New York, Bayonne, NJ
In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy, COASTAL was called upon to provide essential repair and recovery services for the U.S. Coast Guard ANT in Bayonne, NJ. Our initial step involved detailed inspections of the waterfront sites to accurately assess the damage to the Coast Guard’s facilities and the surrounding infrastructure.
Collaborating closely with the Coast Guard, COASTAL launched into a 24/7 operation, focusing on emergency response, construction support, and the prompt removal of debris. The COASTAL Project Team played a crucial role in repairing and reassembling the damaged dock sections, as well as correcting the alignment of guide piles that had been damaged by the storm.
Through our concerted efforts, we were able to restore operational service to the facility within a week, significantly aiding the maritime operations critical to the Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts. This project highlighted COASTAL’s dedication to providing swift and effective solutions in the aftermath of natural disasters, ensuring the continuity of vital services for the maritime community.
