In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, a significant repair project was undertaken at the Station New York marina in Rosebank, Staten Island, to address the extensive damage inflicted by the storm. This comprehensive effort focused on restoring the marina’s functionality and safety, encompassing a wide range of repairs.

Key aspects of the project included the replacement of eleven concrete float modules that had failed, refurbishment of floating dock sections, and the introduction of a new polyethylene float system to accommodate an additional boat slip. In addition, a gangway that had been lost to the harbor’s depths was retrieved and securely reinstalled.

The project also entailed critical electrical repairs, ensuring all dock and marina electrical equipment damaged during the hurricane was restored to full operation. Mechanical systems and the domestic water supply serving the docks also received necessary repairs to ensure reliability and safety.

Through diligent work and a focused approach, the marina was successfully rehabilitated, reinforcing its resilience against future challenges and securing its role as a vital asset to the U.S. Coast Guard’s operations in Staten Island.
