USACE Fort Worth District – Design-Build Construction of Rio Grande Valley Fence Segment 08 in Rio Grande City and McAllen, TX

The COASTAL Project Team simultaneously executed two pivotal border infrastructure projects for the USACE Fort Worth District, which focused on enhancing border security and infrastructure. This comprehensive project involved the design and construction of an 11.69-mile long, 30-foot high Bollard wall, spanning across Rio Grande City and McAllen, TX. The project included the development of a 150-foot wide enforcement zone and 24-foot wide roads for all-weather maintenance and patrols, alongside a 6-foot utility strip.

To further support the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s operations, COASTAL installed five Remote Video Surveillance System (RVSS) towers, complete with foundations. The project also included the installation of new mechanical gates, advanced border lighting, power conduits, and fiber optic communications cables.

COASTAL Project Team also managed the relocation of both above and underground utilities across Segments A, B, and C of the Rio Grande Valley (RGV 08), ensuring a seamless integration of the new infrastructure with existing systems. This project stands as a testament to COASTAL’s commitment to enhancing national security and operational efficiency through strategic design and construction.
